International aeronautics innovation

The SESAR (Single European Sky ATM Research) programme is one of the most ambitious research and development projects ever launched by the European Community. The mission of the SESAR Joint Undertaking is to develop a\u00a0modernised air-traffic-management system\u00a0<\/b>for Europe. This future system will increase the safety and fluidity of European air transport over the next thirty years, making flying more environmentally friendly and reducing the costs of air-traffic management.<\/span><\/p>\n

SESAR is the developmental part of Single European Sky (SES), the primary objective of which is to meet the requirements for increased capacity, reduced environmental impact, cost reduction and more. SESAR focuses on validation of concepts, procedures and technologies (up to E-OCVM level v3, corresponding to TRL<\/a> 5\u20136).<\/span><\/p>\n

From Sweden, Saab, LFV, Swedavia, SAS, Malm\u00f6 Aviation, NOVAIR, the Swedish Armed Forces, and some SMEs participate, where LFV and Saab are the major players through the NORACON and NATMIG consortia.<\/span><\/p>\n

SESAR distributes work primarily through single major announcements (BAFOs) directed only to original members.<\/span><\/p>\n
