Interest organisations<\/h2>\n

The Swedish Air Transport Society<\/a><\/h4>\n

The Swedish Air Transport Society communicates ideas, opinions, and knowledge about commercial aviation and aeronautics industry in Sweden. Its aim is to strengthen confidence in commercial aviation and aeronautics industries such that they are given opportunities to work and grow in Sweden.<\/p>\n

SOFF \u2013 the Swedish Security and Defence Industry Association<\/a><\/h4>\n

SOFF is open to companies whose production of security and defence equipment and services constitutes an essential part of their output. The association currently has\u00a065 member companies\u00a0including 55 SMEs. The purpose of the association is to promote the common interests of the security and defence industry and to strive for increased understanding of its importance to Swedish security and defence policy.<\/p>\n

The association maintains a close dialogue and collaborates extensively with the Swedish government as well as supporting agencies such as the Swedish Armed Forces, Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), Swedish Defence & Security Export Agency (FXM) and the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI). The association\u00a0also represents the Swedish security and defence industry in various international organisations.<\/p>\n

SAI \u2013 Swedish Aerospace Industries<\/a><\/h4>\n

SAI is a non-profit organisation for Swedish aerospace industry. SAI works to increase knowledge of Swedish aerospace operations, activities, and its special terms and conditions. SAI wants to promote collaboration between universities, government agencies, small and large businesses, institutes and policy makers.<\/p>\n

Member companies (2018) are: GKN Aerospace, OHB Sweden, Omnisys, Ruag Space, Saab, SSC, \u00c5AC Microtec. SAI is the Swedish member of ASD (Aerospace and Defence Association in Europe).<\/p>\n

ACS \u2013 Aerospace Cluster Sweden<\/a><\/h4>\n

ACS is a network organisation focused on small and medium-sized companies, professionally engaged in the aerospace industry. ACS currently has two nodes; one in the region of \u00d6sterg\u00f6tland (R\u00d6) and one in the region of V\u00e4stra G\u00f6taland (VGR).<\/p>\n

FTF \u2013 the Swedish Society for Aeronautics and Astronautics<\/a><\/h4>\n

FTF is a nationwide, non-profit and non-political organisation which currently has about 2,000 members. The society exists in its present form since 1968 when the aeronautics society, founded in 1933, merged with the Swedish Interplanetary Society. Its purpose is to promote aerospace engineering business in Sweden. The seat of the head society is in Stockholm, with five local branches in Link\u00f6ping, Trollh\u00e4ttan, Gothenburg, Malm\u00f6, and Kiruna.<\/p>\n

FTF organises every year a number of lectures in each city on current topics, as well as field trips. Every three years, a national aerospace congress is organized. Every year FTF also selects the recipients of the Thulin medal, which is the most distinguished award in the aerospace industry in Sweden.<\/p>\n

Airports<\/h2>\n

Swedavia<\/a><\/h4>\n

Operation and ownership of governmental airports for civil aviation was formerly part of LFV, but was transferred on 1 April 2010 to the newly formed government company Swedavia.\u00a0Swedavia owns, operates and develops ten airports across Sweden.<\/p>\n

SAS<\/a><\/h4>\n

SAS is the leading airline in Scandinavia and the figures for 2013 were 28 million passengers to 120 different destinations.
