Innovair defines innovation as taking forward new ideas that result in a product or service being brought to market. All stakeholders concerned with the development from idea to product/service are innovation stakeholders. Together they constitute the innovation system.
This means that innovation consists of the three main components research (performed by universities), demonstration (performed by institutes) and product development (performed by industry). Also, external components like for instance public administration and financiers are required.
