International aeronautics innovation
Clean Sky is a Joint Technology Initiative (JTI) between the aviation industry and EC. It is a large demonstrator project to validate technology to high TRL level (TRL 6). Demonstrators for, among other things, aircraft structures and systems as well as engines are being implemented. Saab and GKN are strategic partners in Clean Sky.
25% of the budget in Clean Sky 1 was distributed through open calls. Strategic partners like Saab and GKN formulated topics and also participated in the evaluation of applications in the open calls. Through these calls, several Swedish universities, institutes and SMEs have joined Clean Sky projects.
